BitNami Brings App Library to HP Cloud Services

BitNami is working with HP to bring popular open source web applications and development frameworks to HP Cloud Services.

San Francisco, CA. May 10, 2012 - In conjunction with the public beta release of HP Cloud Services (, BitNami has announced that it is bringing its library of web applications to this new public cloud platform from HP. The initial set of available BitNami-packaged images include Drupal, Joomla!, WordPress, Ruby on Rails, Django and other popular applications and frameworks. These images allow developers and systems administrators to bring up fully-functional servers in the cloud with a single click, simplifying the process of deploying applications for development, testing or production purposes.

"One of our goals with BitNami is to make it simple to run your apps on any platform, whether it is in your desktop, a virtualized environment or the cloud," said Erica Brescia, CEO of BitNami. "The BitNami library is very widely used by web developers and internal IT departments and porting it to HP Cloud Services allows us to bring its benefits to the HP customer base."

The initial set of available images offers two bundles centered around web publishing (BitNami WebPack) and development (BitNami DevPack). Both of these bundles are available to HP Cloud Services users at no additional cost. Dozens of other applications including CRMs, document management systems, wikis and project management systems are planned for release in the near future.
