Erica Brescia, CEO : Erica is the Chief Executive Officer of BitRock and has been a key driver of BitRock's vision and strategy. Prior to joining BitRock, Erica managed multiple sales teams for T-Mobile and served as a liaison to the mobile enthusiast community. Previous to that, she held positions as an Analyst at Oakwood Worldwide and as a consultant with Chekiang First Bank in Hong Kong, where she helped to plan the launch of its internet banking service. Erica has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Daniel Lopez, CTO : Daniel leads the technical side of things at BitRock. Previously, he was part of the original engineering teams at Covalent technologies (acquired by VMWare) and Devicescape. He holds a Ms. of Sc. in Telecommunications from Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de Sevilla and Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, with a focus on optical networking. In the past Daniel contributed to various web infrastructure open source projects, published multiple technical books and became a member of the Apache Software Foundation, although he is not currently active with the project.
Eric Hahn : Eric Hahn is the founding partner of the Inventures Group, a leading “mentor investment” firm based in Palo Alto, California. At Inventures, Mr. Hahn has served as a director and/or has been actively involved with companies including Red Hat, Zimbra, Opsware, Proofpoint, and Good Technology. Previously, Mr. Hahn served as the CTO for Netscape Communications, Inc. and was a member of the company’s Executive Committee. In addition, Mr. Hahn was the founder and CEO of Collabra Software, Inc., a leading groupware provider that was acquired by Netscape in 1995. Prior to Collabra, Mr. Hahn ran the cc:Mail division of Lotus Development Corporation. Mr. Hahn began his career at Bolt, Beranek and Newman, where he worked on the ARPANET, the precursor to the Internet. Mr. Hahn serves as a Trustee of the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California and holds a B.S. degree and an honorary Ph.D. in computer science from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Mike Olson : Mike Olson is founder and CEO of Cloudera, the industry leader in enterprise-ready big data solutions built on Apache Hadoop. Mike was formerly CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as Vice President for Embedded Technologies after Oracle’s acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software. Mike has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Peter Courture : Peter Courture is SVP Strategy for United Microelectronics Corporation (NYSE: UMC) and has more than 30 years advising and working in technology, media and engineering companies, especially with respect to intellectual property, alliances and licensing and global business transactions. He is also an instructor at Stanford Law School and a court appointed neutral for the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California.
Michael Hughes : Michael is the Co-CEO and co-founder of Ring2 Communications. He has eight years leadership experience in high growth communications technology companies. Prior to Ring2, Michael was a founding member and early stage CEO of Pagoo, a telecommunications 'Internet call-waiting' company. Under his leadership, the company achieved breakeven with 9 months, delivering 30,000 sign-ups per month. Michael went on to spearhead international sales, building a presence in Europe and Asia which accounted for over 75% of total company sales. Michael also spent six years in strategy consulting with Monitor, opening new offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and Abu Dhabi. He has a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College, an MBA from Stanford as an Arjay Miller Scholar, and was awarded a Sainsbury Management Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Engineers in 1995.
Aaron Fulkerson : Aaron Fulkerson (@Roebot) is co-founder and CEO of MindTouch, the leader in social knowledge bases, product help, and enterprise collaboration. As CEO of MindTouch, Aaron has grown the company from a small open source project to a widely respected brand in social business software with millions of users around the globe. Aaron was a member of Microsoft's Advanced Strategies and Policies division where he worked on distributed systems research. Aaron has also helped to launch several non-profits and businesses outside the software industry.
Stephe Walli : Stephen Walli is the Technical Director of the Outercurve Foundation. Prior to joining Outercurve Stephen served as a consultant on software business development and open source strategy for customers including Microsoft, the Eclipse Foundation and the Linux Foundation. He is an adviser to Bitrock, Continuent, and eBox. Stephen was VP Open Source Development Strategy at Optaros, a business manager at Microsoft on open source, and VP R+D and founder at Softway Systems, a venture-backed company that developed a UNIX portability environment for NT from open source software before being acquired by Microsoft. Stephen was a long-time participant and officer of the IEEE and ISO POSIX standards groups, representing both USENIX and EurOpen (E.U.U.G.) and has been a frequent speaker and writer on open systems standards since 1991.
