BitNami has released CloudFormation templates for applications such as SugarCRM, Alfresco, Drupal, Joomla!, Wordpress and many others to enable users to deploy open source applications to the cloud in minutes.
San Francisco, CA. March 5, 2011. -- BitNami, which simplifies the process of deploying web applications natively, virtually and in the cloud, released today free templates for popular open source applications for Amazon's new CloudFormation service.

A CloudFormation stack can include load balancers, databases, EBS volumes and EC2 instances, among other resources.
By providing all of the PHP and Ruby-on-Rails-based BitNami applications as CloudFormation templates, BitNami makes it easier to deploy and provision open source applications on the cloud. Applications available as CloudFormation templates include:
"We're excited to be providing this new resource, free of charge, to the hundreds of thousands of BitNami users," said Daniel Lopez Ridruejo, founder and CTO of BitRock, which develops BitNami. "It enables developers to use BitNami applications as building blocks to construct their application environment and configure it at launch time."
