BitRock to present current and forthcoming products in the Emerging Technologies Showcase.
San Francisco CA, October 24, 2005
BitRock SL has been invited to take part at the Open Source Business Conference ("OSBC"), which brings together established technology vendors, startups, Open Source community members, and enterprise IT users/customers to jointly explore and discuss how to capitalize on new opportunities for Open Source Software (OSS) deployments. After widely-publicized success in 2004, OSBC has earned sponsorships from Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Oracle, and Novell, among others. Over the course of the two-day conference, attendees will interact with the brightest thinkers and most innovative practitioners in Open Source business today. The event is being held November 1st and 2nd at the Marriot Boston Newton.
After being invited to present BitRock InstallBuilder at the first OSBC in 2004, BitRock was invited to return to San Francisco for the conference in March of 2005. BitRock has again been invited to participate in the Showcase at the upcoming conference outside of Boston. "We are thrilled to once again be included as part of the Showcase at OSBC," Said BitRock founder and CTO Daniel Lopez Ridruejo. "As a relatively small company, it gives us the exposure that we need, as well as providing a great opportunity to network with the best and brightest in the industry."
At the conference, BitRock will be highlighting its newest offering, BitRock Custom Stacks. A Custom Stack by BitRock combines all open source tools, applications and libraries required by an application into one binary distribution that is re-locatable and will run across nearly all Linux distributions. Ideal for both ISVs and internal IT departments, the Stacks make it easy to deploy applications in any environment, without the need to download third party applications and resolve dependency issues. Packaged with BitRock.s InstallBuilder tool, the Stacks automate much of the initial configuration process, reducing installation-related support requests while presenting a professional image. Custom Stacks may also be developed for Solaris, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and other platforms.
The Open Source Business Conference ("OSBC") is the leading independent forum for addressing the business, legal and financial issues facing technology vendors and end user organizations deploying Open Source software. OSBC 2005 will be November 1st and 2nd in Newton, Massachusetts at the Marriot Boston Newton. View details and register at www.osbc.com.
