Challenge: |
To install Pentaho's Business Intelligence platform, users must also
setup Java, MySQL and JBoss or Tomcat on their system. Asking new
users to install and configure all of the components manually often
leads to a frustrating installation experience, which discourages new
users from evaluating the software. Pentaho could choose to package
and maintain those as part of an in-house installation project, but
the labor-intensive task would take developers away from their core
project, the BI platform.
