BitRock Partners with MySQL, Extends Custom Stacks Offering
The MySQL-BitRock partnership extends BitRock.s offerings to include
MySQL Network Certified binary integration with its easy to install stacks
of open source software.
MySQL Users Conference 2006, SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 25, 2006.
BitRock, Inc., the premier provider of custom
open source stacks, announced today that it has joined the MySQL Network
Certified Partner Program to provide integration with the MySQL Certified
Network binaries to BitRock Custom Stacks customers, giving them access to
MySQL's enterprise-grade support and services.
"One of the biggest challenges of using open source software is getting
all of the different components to work together." said Erica Brescia, VP of
Business Development for BitRock. "MySQL is one of the most popular
components of our open source stacks. This partnership with MySQL allows us
to extend our current offerings to include integration with the MySQL
Network Certified binaries, making it easier for our clients to install,
configure, and integrate MySQL with other applications."
Since launching BitRock LAMPStack and BitRock Custom Stacks over a year
ago, BitRock has experienced a high and steadily growing demand, with
several high-profile clients and tens of thousands of installations. For
software vendors, offering a self-contained stack that steps users through
the installation and configuration process reduces installation-related
support requests while ensuring that new users are quickly up-and-running
with the application. "Our customers love the fact that they can distribute
self-contained installers that are easy to use and work on many platforms,
including Windows, Solaris and Linux." explained Brescia, "Many of them
choose to use MySQL in their stack for those same reasons."
"By providing integration with the MySQL Network Certified binaries as
part of BitRock Custom Stacks, BitRock customers can now benefit from the
stability and reliability of MySQL Network along with the ease-of-use of
BitRock's packaged open source stacks," said Nicolas Pujol, director of
Alliances at MySQL AB. .BitRock is a valued MySQL partner, and we are
pleased they will be showcasing BitRock Custom Stacks at the MySQL Users
Conference this week."
